Jeanette Palmer has over thirty years of teaching experience in the field of movement, dance and fitness. Ballet trained at Walnut Hill School of the Performing Arts and the Boston Conservatory of Music, Jeanette has had a distinguished performing career, including the Broadway theatre, New York City Opera at Lincoln Center, and Radio City Music Hall.
Jeanette found her way to Pilates when chronic pain threatened to bring her performing career to a premature end. Through Pilates (and stretching) she was rehabilitated and continued to dance professionally for another 13 years. (Given her triumph over her injuries and her lifelong passion for movement and dance, becoming a certified Pilates teacher was the logical next step.)
Ms. Palmer is on the adjunct faculty of the Graduate Center at CUNY, is the Pilates instructor to the Women’s Swim Team at Columbia University, has been teaching pilates for over at eleven years at Body Strength and the New Dance Group. She has also been invited by the Cirque du Soleil to teach Pilates workshops to their “Quidam” company in Philadelphia. Jeanette also has a thriving private practice working with clients in their own homes, many of whom have physical challenges and limitations, requiring unique, personalized programming.
Originally certified in Pilates through IMX in the mid 90’s, Jeanette discovered the LindaFit program in 2004. She was so pleased with the program she asked Linda Farrell if she could assist at a future training and five years later is the senior teaching assistant for LindaFit.

I can't say enough about Linda Farrell or her mat certification program. I chose her program because two teachers I respected and admired- and who inspired me to teach myself- had gotten their mat certifications through LindaFit. I took a few classes from Linda and knew right away that I wanted to learn to teach from her. I am so glad I did! The sizes of the trainings are small, enabling Linda to provide each aspiring teacher with more than enough individual attention. With Linda you are not just a number but a name and face. Also, her apprentice teaching program is so valuable for new teachers to gain the confidence and experience they need to get work in studios and gyms. It is because of her, and her commitment to the success of her trainees, that I have been a working Pilates instructor ever since I made the decision to get certified. She is an excellent resource and mentor. I continue to study with Linda, both in class, and through her workshops. I would highly recommend the Lindafit Mat Certification Program to anyone beginning the journey to becoming a Pilates teacher. - Jenn

I full-heartedly recommend attending the LindaFit Pilates Mat certification program. My certification has provided me with a continuous flow of work teaching at gyms and studios across New York. I first met Linda at one of her classes and since then I have received her undivided attention and support throughout my training and transition from student to teacher. I don’t believe any other program offers her level of support and individual attention, for that I am eternally grateful. I continue to take Linda’s classes as often as I can, honing my skills and gaining a better understanding of my own body. - Kirsten

I truly believe that Linda's training program for aspiring Pilates instructors is the most real, beneficial, enjoyable, and rewarding program in the Pilates world. The classes and trainings are small in number so you can have personal attention and thoroughly understand the material and exercises. It gives you the most broad understanding and instruction on how to be an excellent teacher. I believe it is a wonderful journey becoming a certified Pilates instructor. You complete the program and feel a sense of accomplishment and feel prepared to go out there and make a difference in your classes and for clients. You also get opportunities to continue your education by attending Linda's workshops for different props and more repetory to enhance your workouts for your clients. Linda gives you her encouragement and guidance to be the Pilates instructor you want to become and helps you get right into the world of teaching. - Joanna

The main factors that caught my attention right away was the weekend format and the affordability. I had researched various programs earlier but was discouraged by their cost. Once I started the program, I realized that the program’s main asset was Linda herself; she instantly made everyone feel comfortable, and her knowledge about teaching techniques and human anatomy amazed me. Throughout the certification process, Linda was helping every step of the way. Through Linda, I have met many successful Pilates instructors who have inspired me and have taught me the logistics of running a private business. I am so thankful to Linda for helping me gain the skills I need to not only teach Pilates, but to someday incorporate Pilates into a Physical Therapy practice. - Anna Morejon

I can’t recommend the LindaFit mat certification program enough. Linda’s name carries a lot of weight in the Pilates world- she is highly respected and those who have gone through her Pilates certification program consistently make excellent teachers. The biggest compliment I can give to my training with Linda is that I have been accepted at every studio I have auditioned at- a 100% success rate! "I discovered pilates almost by accident. I was looking for an exercise program that would give me fast results. I had tried several
other classes and was either bored by them or injured myself. The first time I took a pilates class I knew it was a perfect fit!
In a short time I could see remarkable changes in my body and the constant lower back and shoulder pain I had all of my life
disappeared! People started complimenting me on my posture. I loved the new awareness I had about my body. My fascination
with how the human body works grew and before long I found myself lecturing friends and family about the benefits of doing pilates.
I became increasingly more dissatisfied with my job in the corporate service industry and pilates soon became the focus of my life.
I knew I wanted to teach as passionately as Jeanette and inspire others the way she inspired me. It was Jeanette who led me to Linda
and again it was a perfect fit! I now have a career I am passionate about and enjoy helping others connect to their bodies and live
healthier lives! I could never have imagined at that first pilates class how much it would change my life!"

Stephanie Petruccio ~ "My love for Pilates started when I took a few classes in college (The University of the Arts) as a modern dance major, but grew even more once I started taking Linda's classes at Broadway Dance Center. I did my best to make her class at least once a week or whenever I could get down to NYC since I live in Fishkill, NY. The way she explains the Pilates method and every exercise is so precise and her voice is so sweet and pleasant. She made me fall in love with the technique and before I knew it, Linda asked me to help her with a few of her certification programs as a model for the students. We built a wonderful relationship and I eventually was able to get my certification. I completed my Pilates training this past summer (2013). Linda is very careful to cover all the principles of Pilates that Joseph Pilates originally created. She gives you a history of Pilates as well as a thorough anatomy lesson and explanation of every exercise. I now work for SLT (Strengthen Lengthen & Tone) in Rye Brook, NY as a trainer. I teach the Megaformer classes and am extremely happy. Linda is a huge positive influence in my life and I appreciate everything she has done for me and for all of her support. I highly recommend her program for anyone interested in becoming certified! "
