Program Overview
LindaFit Pilates Mat, Group Coursework: 30 Hours
The LindaFit Pilates Mat Teacher Training program is a comprehensive learning experience that includes three parts: Core Anatomy, Pilates Mat Repertory, and Practice Teaching. These three components comprise the LindaFit group coursework and must be taken to complete the program and receive a certificate.

Core Anatomy
Covers musculoskeletal anatomy, focusing on biomechanics, kinesthetic principles, and the muscle groups of the trunk, shoulder, and hips. Key topics include: relationships between core muscle groups, proper pelvic placement, shoulder mechanics, pelvic floor, and posteral-lateral breathing.
Recommended anatomy text book for course: Trail Guide to the Body, by Andrew Biel, 4th, 5th, or 6th edition. Available through Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com

Pilates Mat Repertory
Starts with a discussion of Joseph Pilates’ principles, which are the ideas that formed and shaped the Pilates Mat repertory. The principles are then applied to 30 Pilates Mat exercises (beginning, intermediate, and advanced) that will be broken down in terms of set-up, modifications, progressions, and cueing. Developing an eye for correct alignment and an ear for succinct cueing starts at this stage.

Practice Teaching
Six, 2-hour Practice Teaching sessions allow each student to practice cueing and teaching all the Pilates Mat repertory exercises online in a supervised, supportive group format. Students will receive individual guidance and feedback, as well as a final review of the Pilates Mat Repertory. During this phase, students should start their individual coursework requirements.
LindaFit Pilates Mat, Individual Coursework: 100 Hours
Students will be responsible for completing 5 self-practice class hours, 25 observation hours, and 70 practice teaching hours on their own. Individual coursework hours can be started at the Practice Teaching phase of the program.

Written Exam
After successful completion of the group coursework and all individual coursework, the student will set up an appointment to take an online written 3.5 hour exam. The exam is usually completed within 3 months to a year after completing the group coursework.

LindaFit Pilates Mat Certificate
Upon successful passing of the online exam, the student will receive a certificate, rendering them a Pilates Mat teacher. Every two years, student must complete 9 CECs to renew their certification. The LindaFit Pilates Mat certification is accepted by many Pilates studios offering Pilates Apparatus certification. Email linda@lindafit.com to learn more
